At the age of 14 the Captain got his first guitar. At 15 he bought a Tascam PortaStudio 4-track recorder and started recording his own music. Playing all the instruments on the album, he quickly became obsessed with creating music. Captain Swirly's musical voyage went from 1995 through 2002. The Maritone archivists believe they are over 500 songs, making it close to 14 albums worth of music. Back in the 90s Captain Swirly sold his albums on cassette tapes to his friends and family. Now over twenty years later, Captain Swirly's music is being remastered and released to the world.
